the mind of a three year old

This little "monkey" has had me in tears, laughing so hard several times this last week! But the best conversation that, God help me, was not allowed to even crack a smile on my face, took place a little more then 10 days ago. (Oh I do hope she does not kill me, when she reads this later on in her life!) It went something like this:

"Mommy, you know, I have a little penis, too."

(This comment comes despite the fact that many times we have had conversations about the differences between boys and girls and all that jazz... but I can be patient!)

"Really? You do? Hmm..."

"Yes. It's just very little. When I grow up to be six, like Kaspar. It will be just as big as Kaspar's!"

She was so serious!!! I tried so hard not to laugh. Oh my! And believe me, at that moment she was not interested whatsoever in hearing that she is wrong. And just prove her point, a little later on, I found her standing in front of the toilet "I'm trying to pee like the boys do." she said. "But you're a girl, are you not?" said I, pleadingly. "Yes." as she shut the door on me. I still found a puddle on the floor later... Some fights are just not worth fighting :-)
